Happy Birthday EPIC!

Oct. 10, 1973.  52 years ago. Where were you?  A little kid?  In college?  Starting a family?  Not born yet?  In 1973, Crocodile Rock was the #1 song, the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) was created, Richard Nixon was President, and….EPIC was incorporated in 1973!

We started as JAM House, became the Drug Education and Prevention Center, then Epic Community Services, and now EPIC Behavioral Healthcare.  To learn more about our 50+ year journey, visit https://www.epicbh.org/about/50-years-of-epic/ – you’ll see EPIC highlights from every year!

52 years!  It has been an honor for EPIC to have served our community that long.  We offer life-changing and life-saving services and programs, and in our 52-year history, have helped thousands of people on their journey to recovery and mental well-being.  The cornerstone of all we have done over these 52 years is that substance use and mental health disorders are real, they are diseases, they are preventable, and they are treatable.  It is essential to EPIC to listen to community needs, which has led us to expand programs and increase the number of locations to make it easier for people to access our services. We are grateful to our supporters, partners, funders, and donors – we could not have made it to 52 years without the generous and broad spectrum of support we receive.

As we look to the future, we remain clear on our mission to strengthen our community by providing person-centered care to individuals and families impacted by substance use and mental health disorders, and other behaviors through a comprehensive system of Education, Prevention, Intervention, and Counseling.  We hope you’ll continue to support and partner with us as we work to ensure that behavioral health services are available to anyone who needs them.
