27th Annual Flower & Garden Expo – March 25-26, 2023

Saturday 9AM – 5PM, Sunday 10AM – 3PM

Looking to enhance or revitalize or update your yard with vibrant, colorful plants and flowers? Then mark your calendars for our annual Flower & Garden Expo, a rain or shine event, every Spring!

A popular event in NE Florida, the Flower and Garden Expo will delight gardeners of all ages with growers, nurseries and artisans from around the state offering shoppers every item to make your garden all it can be! Every year, this show features a variety of vendors bringing a wide array of horticulture including herbs, ferns, succulents, citrus,  colorful flowering plants, butterfly plants, native plants and more plus gardening accessories and art. There is a $5 admission fee per person, which is valid for both days of the Expo (Children are admitted for free)!

There are special fun activities for kids!  Returning this year are gardening lectures to help you with great information to beautify your yard!

Save your Expo ticket! It will grant you free admission to our event, “Taste of St. Augustine!”

We will be back at Sykes Family Farm in 2023, home of the popular fall corn maze!: 5995 Brough Road, Elkton, FL 32033.

Located just 10 miles west of St. Augustine in Elkton, FL off of SR 207.  Coming from Jacksonville or Daytona?  Take exit 311 off of I-95 then head west toward Hastings for about 5 miles.  Sykes Family Farm is located on the right.

Q: Is the event handicap accessible? 

A:Yes, however, a majority of the expo will take place in a grassy area.

Q: Can I bring my pet? 

A: Dogs are permitted at the Expo as long as they are on a leash and the owner has bags ready for clean-up.

Q: What if it rains?

A: The Expo will take place rain or shine.

Q: What if I’m interested in being a vendor, sponsor, or have additional questions?

Scouts BSA Troop 875 & Troop 9875

Concerned about getting all your great plant buys back to your car?  Not to worry!  Scouts BSA Troop 875 and Troop 9875 will be on hand providing plant pick-up services.  Just flag down one of the Scouts and they’ll take your purchases back to their Plant Pick-Up Tent so you can continue looking around.  When you are ready to go, bring your car and ticket to the Plant Pick-Up Tent and they’ll load your plants into your car.  We’ve been partnering with the Scouts for many years and they add a wonderful, convenient option to the Expo.

Lectures

Gardening Lectures are back in 2023!  Each lecture will include the opportunity to win door prizes donated by this year’s Expo vendors!

Saturday, March 25

11:30 am – Healthy Back, Happy Gardening!  Presented by Dr. Gloria Moore, Chiropractor

Dr. Moore became a Registered Nurse in 1972 and a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1992 and she loves gardening!  She has been a vendor at the Expo for over 20 years.  During her lecture, Dr. Moore will share tips with fellow gardening enthusiasts on how to avoid injuring their backs (and other body parts) while gardening.  Dr. Moore will discuss how to keep your back fit and offer suggestions for pain relief if you injure back.  During the lecture, she will also offer away a few health items as prizes.

1:00 pm – Making your Citrus Trees Thrive in NE Florida.  Presented by Marshall Hartley, Certified Crop Advisor and Owner of Hartley Citrus Farm.

Marshall will share information on how best to grow citrus trees in our region including best strategies for planting, care-taking, and how to diagnose tree illnesses.  If you currently have a struggling citrus tree, bring a leaf with you and Marshall will help to diagnose the problem and suggest a solution for your citrus tree.

Sunday, March 26

1:00 pm – Cultivating Well-Being:  Human-Plant Partnerships.  Presented by Dianne Battle, SJC Master Gardener, UF Master Naturalist, National Garden Club Environmental Consultant, and member of the Garden Club of St. Augustine

Plants provide us with many benefits including supporting our environment, feeding, sheltering, and inspiring us.  People have developed a myriad of ways of interacting with plants through hobbies, vocations, exploration, and experiential activities.  Dianne will discuss these activities and our relationship with plants with the purpose of increasing our own well-being and appreciation of the planet kingdom.
